AUGUSTA (AP) – A body pulled from Portland Harbor was identified Tuesday as that of a Coast Guardsman who fell from a party boat.
Vincent Colon, 24, of New York, was off duty with friends when he tumbled from an 85-foot chartered boat carrying about 130 passengers on Sept. 1. He was last seen treading water 100 yards from the Maine State Pier.
Colon, whose body was recovered on Monday, was identified by the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta. The cause of death was accidental drowning, a spokeswoman said.
Colon was stationed in South Portland aboard the cutter Marcus Hanna.
