FARMINGTON – Ella has been a resident of the Franklin County Animal Shelter on and off for about a year.

Staff said she is a sweet dog that would love nothing more than just be with someone for the rest of her life. She has often spent time on the futons in the cat rooms.

When someone walks in, she starts wagging her tail and waiting for eye contact. Once someone looks into those big puppy dog eyes, she jumps up and races toward them for a tummy scratch, staff said.

Ella is a sleek Walker Hound. She has tri-colored markings and long legs. She is built as a hound but has the heart of a puppy. She would not be a good hunting dog but a great companion for the whole family. For a chance to give the lady a home, call the shelter at 778-2638.

Shelter staff will be at the Farmington Fair Sept. 16 to 22.

New dogs at the shelter include a beagle mix/neutered male and a pit bull type dog/intact male.
