LEWISTON – Vacationing in another country soon? Planning to study overseas next semester? Going someplace tropical this winter?

If so, you will need a passport.

The Postal Service District of Maine will host a statewide Passport Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at 29 post offices, including Bridgton, Brunswick, Eustis, Farmington, Lewiston, Rangeley and Stratton.

Passport applications will be available that day or applicants may pick them up ahead of time at the participating post offices, fill them out and bring them to the event. They can then have their photos taken and turn in the paperwork.

Along with the passport application, each applicant must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate (or previous passport for submission) along with a photo ID.

Checks, cash, debit or credit cards will be accepted for passport application fees, although U.S. State Department fees must be paid with cash, check or money order.
