Maria Bellegarde, 6, of Lewiston has her blood pressure taken by Don Wormell, a paramedic for United Ambulance, during Kid’s Day America at Pettingill Elementary School in Lewiston on Saturday. A line stretched out the gymnasium and onto the front sidewalk as children waited with their parents for free health screenings, fingerprinting, food and I.D. cards. This is the fourth year that Dr. Chandra Sasseville, a Lewiston chiropractor, has organized the event. “I have always had a passion for kids,” said Sasseville. More than $2,500 was raised through sponsors to benefit New Beginnings, a nonprofit youth agency located in Lewiston. “This is an awesome day for kids,” added Sasseville.
