Worship leader
PARIS – The Rev. Dr. Robert Sallies will be the worship leader at the 10 a.m. service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., Paris, on Sunday, Sept. 30.
The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist.
The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.
Sunday service
PARIS – Those wishing can renew their faith on Sunday, Sept. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris. Sunday school will be at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10:15 a.m., followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.
Blood drive
CASCO – There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Casco Alliance Church, 450 Roosevelt Trail, Route 302.
Bean supper
NORWAY – A classic Western Maine bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Second Congregational Church, Main Street. The public is invited for supper and fellowship. Sponsored by the Music Committee, proceeds will benefit the missions of the Second Congregational Church, UCC.
The cost will be $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under age 10. On the menu will be baked beans, hot dogs, homemade brown bread, coleslaw, salads, casseroles, homemade pies, coffee and juice. Takeout will be available.
Fall chrysanthemums and other plants will be sold during the supper. They will also be sold in the church parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 29. Sponsored by the deacons, proceeds will benefit the church missions.
The church is a member of the United Church of Christ. Worship and church school is at 10 a.m. For more information, call the church office, 743-2290, between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Thursday.
Chinese auction
PARIS – A Chinese auction will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Bidding will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with drawing of winners at 6:30. Proceeds will benefit Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills. Cost for tickets is 10/$2.50, also bonus tickets. There will be more than 200 items. Food and refreshments will be available.
Dance lessons
WEST PARIS – Finnish dance lessons will be given at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St., at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. Dances include the schottish, polka, Karensky, Raatikko and others. It is open to the public and people of all ages are welcome. For more information, call 743-5677.
Benefit supper
BUCKFIELD – A benefit supper for Bob Daley will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Masonic Hall.
The menu will include spaghetti, meatballs, sausage or vegetarian sauce, garden salad, rolls, cake and beverages.

Bridge results
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met at the Fare Share Co-op on Sept. 21 for the weekly competition.
There was a four-table Howell with the following winners: first in A, Pete Cummings and Richard Balian; second, Woody Mercier and John Bravo; third, Martine Begert and Mary Leahey; second in B, Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.

Church fair
OXFORD – A craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Oxford Congregational Church, King Street.
There will be a luncheon and food to go as well as a Chinese auction and cookie walk.
Proceeds will be used to improve the parking area and grounds of the national historical site.
