BOOTHBAY – Katie Webster scored a goal in each half to help the upstart Jay/Livermore Falls girls’ soccer team win its first varsity game with a 2-0 triumph over Boothbay.

The Wildcats (1-8) are in their first year of varsity action.

Brittany Castonguay and Beth Moore assisted on the two goals. Katie Beaulieu made 11 saves for the shutout.

Poland 2, Fryeburg 1

POLAND – Senior Dani Belanger took a pass from Tessa Mascetta and broke in for the score with about twenty minutes remaining to break a 1-1 tie to lift Poland to a 2-1 victory in girls’ soccer action Monday.

Coreen Hennessy opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game giving Fryeburg (4-4-1) a 1-0 edge. Junior Hilary Clark evened the score on a penalty kick for Poland (4-3-2).

Poland’s Paige Piper and Fryeburg’s Ellen Head each turned away seven shots in net for their respective teams.

Madison 2, Dirigo 1 (2 OT)

MADISON – Jess Hayden scored her second goal of the game a minute and a half into the second overtime to propel Madison to a 2-1 victory over Dirigo in girls’ MVC soccer.

Hayden’s score came off a cross pass from Heather Magurn to give the Bulldogs (2-5-1) the win. Hayden also scored an unassisted goal in the second half to tie the score.

Dirigo’s Jane Hebert opened the scoring with a first half score giving the Cougars (2-5-2) the halftime edge. Lanette Bryant recorded seven saves in the loss.

Monmouth 5, Carrabec 0

MONMOUTH – Jen Lola and Suzi Chick scored two goals apiece, and Katie Woodman stopped all five shots on goal to lead Monmouth to a 5-0 triumph over Carrabec.

Courtney McFarren added a goal for the Mustangs (5-3), while Chick and Jess Gray had assists.

Mackenzie Weese made three saves for Carrabec (1-5-1).

Lisbon 2, Wiscasset 1

WISCASSET – Renee Moore scored off a deflection in the second half to break a 1-1 tie as Lisbon downed Wiscasset 2-1 in girls’ MVC soccer.

Stevanie Roy put Lisbon on the board with a first half goal giving the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead. Wiscasset (4-5) countered evening the score with a goal from Foxy Buck leading into halftime.

Netminder Samantha Purcell turned away four shots for Lisbon (4-4). Michelle Miete made eight saves for the Redskins.

Mt. Abram 2, Mtn. Valley 0

RUMFORD – Maria Parrett and Desiree Abbott scored a goal each to lift Mt. Abram to a 2-0 triumph over Mountain Valley in MVC girls’ soccer action Monday.

The Roadrunners (5-2-1) jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead on a breakaway goal by junior midfielder Abbott.

Karri McPherson made nine saves for Mountain Valley, while Noelle Lake turned aside 12 to earn the win for Mt. Abram.

St. Dom’s 2, Richmond 1

RICHMOND – Sophie Goulet and Maggie Gamble each scored a goal as St. Dom’s (4-5) slipped away with a 2-1 victory over Richmond (7-2) in a girls’ soccer game Monday.

Jessica Chamberlain earned an assist on Goulet’s first half goal. Erynne Landry collected an assist when Gamble scored on a direct kick.

Field Hockey

Lisbon 6, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD – Seniors Amanda Stevens and Christy McAulliffe each knocked in a pair of goals to lead Lisbon to a 6-0 blanking over Dirigo in a MVC field hockey clash.

Stevens also had a pair of assists for the Greyhounds. who outshot the Cougars 27-3. Sophomore Monica Lakin made four saves in goal for the shutout. Kait Dingley and Morgan Hatherley also scored in the victory.

Goalie Courtney Knox recorded 15 saves in net for Dirigo.

Yarmouth 3, GNG 1

GRAY – Sarah Panrose broke a 1-1 tie late in the first half and later added another score to lead Yarmouth over Gray-New Gloucester 3-1 in field hockey action.

Katie Purpura opened the scoring giving Yarmouth (4-3) the early lead. Gray-New Gloucester (1-5) answered with a goal by Liz Hahnel evening the score before Panrose sealed the game for the Clippers.

Oxford Hills 3, Mt. Ararat 0

SOUTH PARIS – Senior back Kaitlin Crockett recorded a goal and an assist to lead Oxford Hills to a 3-0 victory over Mt. Ararat in KVAC field hockey action Monday.

The Vikings (4-3-1) scored the only goal of the first half when Hannah Strauss parlayed a corner kick to Crockett, who took the direct shot for the eventual game-winner.

Molly Hayes had six saves for the Eagles (1-5), while Pike turned aside seven for Oxford Hills.

North Yarmouth 3, Poland 1

POLAND – Kayte Demont scored a goal in each half to lead North Yarmouth to a 3-1 victory over Poland.

Allie Tocci also scored for the Panthers (7-1). Samantha Stewart scored the lone goal for Poland (1-6). Dezaray Deburra recorded 17 saves in the Poland goal, while NYA’s Hayley Briqut made one save.

Camden Hills 2, Oak Hill 1

CAMDEN – Amanda Kava put Camden Hills on the board first as the Windjammers slipped by Oak Hill, 2-1, in KVAC field hockey action Monday.

The Windjammers (6-1-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the midpoint. Junior center midfielder Kayla Clark converted a feed from Courtney Clark in the second stanza to cut the deficit in half for the Raiders (2-7).

St. Dom’s 10, Traip 0

AUBURN – Mary Lewis scored four goals and was credited with three assists as St. Dom’s rolled over winless Traip (0-6) with a 10-0 victory in field hockey Monday.

The Saints (6-1) erupted with six goals in the first half. Colleen Rideout scored a pair of goals and collected an assist.

Boys soccer

Greely 6, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY – Steven Chase scored a pair of goals and four others hit the back of the net as Greely blanked Gray-New Gloucester 6-0 in boys’ WMC soccer action.

The Rangers (7-2) held a 2-0 halftime edge before pulling away in the second half with four goals. They outshot the Patriots 23-4. Eric Thompson, Kevin Hart, Chris Mullison, and Oliver Blum rounded out the scoring.

Senior goalie Joe Ripley made 12 saves in net for Gray-New Gloucester (3-6).
