St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop, which was located at 80 Walnut St., has moved to 101 Ash St., Lewiston The store will celebrate its grand opening the week of Oct. 1. There will be daily sales specials and door prize drawings. The first store opened at the corner of Walnut and Blake streets 35 years ago when the Rev. Monsignor Paul D. Gleason, then pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, saw a need for helping those less fortunate. Approximately 50 volunteers continue to operate the shop, which depends on donated clothing and other items. Volunteers at the new location are Gertrude Mynahan, left, and Marie Fabrizio.
