GORHAM – Caitlin Albert scored two goals to lead the Unversity of Southern Maine Huskies to a 5-2 win over Worcester State Wednesday afternoon. India Lowe, Sara Winterbottom, and Alyssa Kraus also scored for the Huskies (4-0) win. For the Worcester (5-4) effort, Kara Walker tallied both goals.

Salve Regina 4, Univ. of New England 1

Newport, RI – Whitney Bushee scored three times to lead Salve Regina University to a 4-1 victory over the University of New England in college field hockey.

UNE got on the board first when Nicole Mace scored just 8:32 in the contest. Salve Regina answered with four goals, including a penalty stroke for Bushee. Caroline Galligan rounded out the scoring effort for Salve Regina.

Women’s Soccer

UMaine at Farmington 3, UMPI 0

FARMINGTON – Chelsea Norton scored twice and Bethany Charles notched her first collegiate goal as the freshmand duo led the University of Maine at Farmington to a 3-0 win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Keeper Kerry Kowalczyk made two saves to protect the shutout. The Beavers controlled the majority of the contest with a 36-3 command in shots, and a 10-1 in corner kicks.

St. Joseph’s 8, Daniel Webster 0

STANDISH – The St. Joseph’s women’s soccer team racked up its ninth straight victory, beating Daniel Webster 8-0 Wednesday.

Mikayla Call notched a pair of goals for the Monks. Heather Stanger, Whitney Linindoll, Anna Flynn, and Heidi Stucki each scored a goal apiece, while St. Joseph’s also collected a goal courtesy of an own goal by Daniel Webster.

Men’s Soccer

Colby 2, Southern Maine 0

WATERVILLE – Adam Curatolo and Will Kinder each scored, while Todd Boertzel added two assists to lead Colby to a 2-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Wednesday afternoon. Dan Marden earned his second sreaight shutout with just one save.
