LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education and the Coalition for Women in Trades and Technology are co-sponsoring a hands-on workshop for area women. “Women Building the Future, One Tool at a Time” will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Lewiston High School.

A variety of interactive activities will introduce participants to do-it-yourself projects and simple home repairs. Effective and safe ways to use tools will be stressed. Time will be available to ask questions. In addition, participants will hear about job opportunities in the trades and technologies and where they can get further training.

Women should be prepared to get involved, learn basic tips and techniques and try new things. Long pants or jeans and closed toe shoes are required. All activities, lunch, safety glasses and other materials are included in the $21 fee.

Spaces are limited and registration and payment is requested by Saturday, Oct. 13. To reserve a spot, contact Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141 or on the Web at www.lewistonadulted.org. Financial aid is available for eligible participants. Contact Kathleen Harrison at 755-5325 to apply.
