CHESTERVILLE – At a special town meeting tonight, voters will be asked to use money from the town’s undesignated fund for the recycling center and for a replacement squad truck for the Fire Department.

A third article will ask for the town to accept money raised by the fire department to replace money taken from the undesignated fund, said Selectman and Fire Chief David Archer.

Earlier this year, some truck tires were taken to Norridgewock for disposal.

The cost incurred has left the Recycling Center a little short for operating funds for the rest of the year, Archer said.

The town will be asked to use $3,400 from the fund.

A retired ambulance from Sugarloaf is under consideration for purchase and use by the Chesterville Fire Department as a rescue unit. The vehicle will hold seven men, he said. The cost is $5,000.

The special meeting will begin at 7 p.m at the town office.
