Rock Maple Racing, known for its snocross races in the winter, will bring its inaugural season of ATV races to Central Maine this weekend.

Hemond’s MX in Minot will host the Can-Am RMR Series on Sunday, Sept. 30. The event features the final round of the Polaris Racer Challenge.

The Polaris Racer Challenge is a three-race mini-series, offering increasing purses for Pro division riders.

Gates open at 8 a.m., with the first qualifying races starting an hour later. The qualifying races allow riders to learn quick lines around the challenging track, leading up to the finals, slated for roughly 1 p.m.

Teams in the Can-Am RMR Series compete in two different divisions – MX and Utility. The MX series is for 2-wheel-drive, race-oriented machines, while the Utility division is for entry-level riders on 4-wheel-drive or utility-based machines.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, while children age 5 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult.
