REVERE, Mass. (AP) – A Revere police officer who was seriously wounded in an early morning shooting has died.
Authorities say Officer Dan Talbot suffered a single gunshot wound to the head shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot behind Revere High School and was taken to a Boston Hospital.
Suffolk Distict Attorney Dan Conley says the 30-year-old Talbot, a five-year veteran of the force, worked in the gang unit.
Conley would not say if Talbot was with anyone or whether he was on duty at the time of the incident.
There were no immediate arrests.
Conley says investigators are following up on a lot of leads.
