Seniors to meet

BETHEL – The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, for lunch at Pleasant Valley Grange Hall in West Bethel. Cost of the dinner will be $7. Speaker will be Norman Clanton.

Memory walk

VFW supper

HARRISON – A public supper will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the VFW Hall, Route 35. Menu will include baked beans, brown bread, macaroni and cheese, casseroles, salads, pies and beverage. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. It is sponsored by Ronald G. St. John VFW Post Auxiliary 9328.

Chinese auction

NORWAY – The Women’s Fellowship of Second Congregational Church, UCC of Norway will hold a Chinese auction on Saturday, Oct. 13. Doors will open at 1 p.m., and the auction will start at 3 p.m.

Envelopes for $5, $10 and $20 will be available for bidding on more than 300 items. A 50/50 raffle will be held. Food will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon. Second Congregational is located on the corner of Paris and Main streets. Call the church at 743-2290 for more information.

Church supper

SUMNER – The Youth Group at the Congregational Church of East Sumner will put on a spaghetti supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, to benefit a Living Nativity production on Dec. 22. Halloween Fest

NORWAY – Halloween Fest will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Norway Memorial Library, Main Street. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a scavenger hunt and trick or treat on Main Street, crafts, refreshments, ghost stories, games, fortune-telling and pumpkin smoothies. Children will meet the Cat in the Hat, McGruff, Sparky, Samantha the Skunk, Easter Rabbit and Mr. Pizza.

Church sale

BETHEL – West Parish Congregational Church, UCC, Church Street, will hold its annual sale to benefit the Smile Fund. The fund aids those in need of restorative dental work and lack the financial resources to undertake the treatment.

There will be bargains from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the church basement. Toys, books, household items and tools will be among the items available.
