TEMPLE – The Temple Fire Department will receive a $17,070 federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security, according to a news release issued by the office of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.

A grant was also awarded to Old Town Fire and Rescue Department for $67,450.

The funding will be received through the Operations and Firefighting Safety Program, which consists of training, equipment, wellness and fitness, and modifications to the department’s facilities, the release stated.
