BREWER – “Awake to the Spirit Anew” is the theme of the 12th annual Maine Charismatic Conference scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Joseph’s Church. More than 200 people from around the state are expected to hear Bishop Richard J. Malone of the Diocese of Portland and Mark Nehrbas, director of Christian outreach at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

The Portland Diocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service Committee organized the all-day event, and this year’s focus ties in with the diocesan goal of “Telling Anew the Story of Jesus.”
Cost is $25 a person, $40 a married couple and $7 for youth 18 and under and includes lunch. Interested participants may contact Mary Livingstone of Brownville at 965-7867 or e-mail [email protected] to register.
