DAR to meet
LEWISTON – Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Marco’s Restaurant, Mollison Way. After the meeting, there will be a national defense program.
Any woman over the age of 18 with a direct blood line to a Revolutionary War soldier or person who gave aid to the cause is eligible to join DAR. All prospective members are welcome. For more information, call Bev Robbins at 577-0706.
WLU program
AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St.
Nancy Preble, a self-taught photographer, will display her photos. She has traveled extensively throughout the state and has a large collection of photos from animals, to flowers, to lighthouses. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.
Anointing of sick
AUBURN – The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be given at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Sacred Heart Church, corner of Western and Minot avenues near the Rotary.
Light refreshments will follow in the parish hall downstairs. The church is wheelchair accessible. The hall is also accessible by using the elevator at the back of the church. Parishioners of other parishes are welcome.
Motocross meeting
LISBON FALLS – Maine Bicycle Motocross will hold its first “monthly meeting” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the MTM Recreation Building, School Street.
Items for discussion will be fundraising, publicity and nominations of board members and committee leaders. The meeting is open to all who are interested.

Hummel Club
LEWISTON – Nor’easter Maine Chapter, M.I. Hummel Collector’s Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. New members and those interested in Hummels are welcome. Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Oct. 2 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; third, Martine Begert and Nancy Lindgren; fourth, Ron and Connie Reynolds.
Flight B winners were: first, Richard Balian and Peter Cummings; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the center.
The club also met on Oct. 3 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Anna Vitiello; second, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Ron and Connie Reynolds; fourth, Doug and Betty Sise.
