I am disgusted, but not surprised, by Judge Mary Gay Kennedy’s verdict regarding Kyle Karkos. This seems to be the way our judicial system works – the system set up to protect us. I was appalled but, again, not surprised to hear what Karkos had to say on MySpace.com

As a human being and having victims’ lives in her hands, it makes me wonder – had Kenny Jellison been related to the judge, what the verdict would have been.

I cannot imagine how the Jellison family is going to cope with such a decision, knowing where the blame lies. As for Karkos, has he learned anything from this? Probably not.

Will he speed, race, pass red lights again? Probably.

Does he feel any remorse? Probably not.

Not even a slap on the hand.

He made the decision to pass two red lights, keep on speeding, even after the other vehicle had stopped at the red light, and on his own decision continued, ultimately killing his “best friend.” Let’s keep sending those messages to young, immature drivers. How many more best friends will lose their lives?

Excellent job, judge.
