I am in total agreement with the viewpoints outlined in the Sun Journal’s Oct. 5 editorial concerning Judge Mary Gay Kennedy’s recent ruling in the Kyle Karkos manslaughter trial.

I want to know, since Karkos was acquitted of all charges, then what was the cause serious enough to result in Kenny Jellison’s death?

Due to the number of accidents where teenage speeding is involved, I believe that new legislation should be considered: Increase the minimum age of obtaining a drivers license to 18.

If the state of Maine deems that a 16-year-old child is mature enough to obtain a driver’s license, then the state should deem that child to be mature enough to be held accountable as an adult.
