HOLDERNESS, N.H. – Senior forward Kelly Hood recorded the only goal of the game to lock in a 1-0 Holderness triumph over Hebron in NEPSAC field hockey action Saturday.

Hood found the back of the net with 2:31 remaining in regulation for the defending New England champion Bulldogs (6-2).

Goalie Meghan Munro made 13 saves for the Lumberjacks (5-3), while Pamela Lauden deflected nine shots to seal the win for Holderness.

Soccer

Hebron 2, Gould 1

HEBRON – Emma Leavitt sealed the win for the Lumberjacks with a blast just under the crossbar as Hebron took a 2-1 decision over Gould in girls’ soccer action Saturday.

The Huskies (1-7) broke through first when Maggy Reynolds calmy beat Hebron goalie Shelly Bolduc to the near post for a 1-0 hafltime lead.

Leavitt leveled the score for the Lumberjacks (4-1-2) when Annie Hart’s pass found her waiting at the top of the box, and placed the ball just inside the back post.

Georges Valley 3, Hall-Dale 2

FARMINGTON – Desire Smith nailed an unassisted tally early in the second half for the eventual game-winner as Georges Valley held on for a 3-2 triumph over Hall-Dale in the MVC championship game Saturday afternoon.

Karis Sawyer and Rachel Sprague put the Buccaneers (15-0) up 2-0 before Amy Skillings fired back for the Bulldogs (12-3) to make it 2-1 at the midpoint.

Skillings closed the gap to within one again in the second half for the Bulldogs on an assist from Michelle Severance. But, the tally with 4:03 remaining in regulation was the last Hall-Dale managed to garner.
