LEWISTSON – After two sold-out “Soirée Canadienne” events, the Franco-American Heritage Center will put on another evening of music, food and fun Friday, Oct. 19. There will be toe-tapping music performed by The C’est Si Bon Orchestra, along with lots of singing and dancing.

The C’est Si Bon Orchestra began with the first Franco-American Festival held in Lewiston in the 1970s. The musicians performed at numerous other Franco festivals throughout the state for many years. They have recorded three albums, and their music has spread throughout the United States and Canada, where many schools have used their music to teach French to children.

C’est Si Bon has reunited and continues to perform as a musical tribute to founder Ray Chouinard, who died 1½ years ago. The group performed at the Festival FrancoFun in August with Aurel Paquette as a new member. Other band members are Lionel Meservier, Don LeBlanc, Gerry Meservier and Mickey Meservier.

A C’est Si Bon Orchestra CD featuring original songs may be purchased for $15 at the Franco center.

The meal for the evening, prepared by Richard Chouinard, will include chicken soup, mashed potatoes with gravy, meatloaf, a vegetable medley and pumpkin cake and a beverage.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Reservations must be made by calling the center at 689-2000. Parties of eight or more may reserve a table. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the soirée to begin at 5:30. The Franco center is at 46 Cedar St.
