ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY DRUG COURT
From 2001-2005:
• 117 people were enrolled in the court, 70 graduated and 18 were active at the time of the study.
• 67 percent of those admitted were male. The average age was 32.
• 47 percent were living with a friend or relative, 27 percent lived alone and 20 percent lived with a significant other.
• 85 percent were employed at admission, 60 percent had graduated high school and 57 percent had children.
• All started using drugs between ages 11 and 26. They spent, on average, more than $1,000 a week to support their habit.
• 21 percent of those leaving the program relapsed.
