School fair
LEWISTON – The Gov. James B. Longley Elementary School craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Multi-Purpose Center, Birch Street.
More than 50 tables of handmade crafts from local artisans will be displayed in the gym. Admission is free and food and raffle prizes are available. Proceeds will benefit Longley Elementary School.
Seniors to meet
AUBURN – The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet at the Court Street Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. Business will be conducted followed with devotions by the Rev. Dr. David Clark. Dessert will be provided. Bring a bag lunch, place setting and an item for the door prize.
The program, under the direction of the art group, Charlie’s Angels, will be presented by Muriel Bowerman and Ruth Gammon of Livermore. All senior citizens are welcome.
Benefit dinner
AUBURN – A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the New Auburn Social Club, 7 Second St. Donations are $5. Board to meet
LEWISTON – The CDS-Androscoggin County Governing Board will meet from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Child Development Services, 1567 Lisbon St. All interested parents and community providers are welcome. Persons requiring special accommodations may call 795-4022 to make arrangements.
Card party, trips
LEWISTON – The Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold a card party from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Multi-Purpose Center. There will be pot ‘o gold, raffles and refreshments. The tickets are available at the senior’s office. The cost is $3.
The Lewiston Senior Citizens have the following trips scheduled: Nov. 3, Beverly, Mass., “Les Misérables”; Dec. 9, Beacon Resort in Lincoln, N.H., for a Christmas show and dinner; Dec. 12 and 13, overnight trip to see the Bright Nights near Springfield, Mass. There are still space available on the trips.
Seniors are also going to Daytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 16 through March 2 with Yankee Line from Boston. For more information on all the above trips, contact the Lewiston Senior Citizens office at 145 Birch St., 784-2926, ext. 207.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual club appreciation pairs game at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 15 were: first, Martine Begert and Mary Leahey; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, first in B, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; fourth, Nancy Farmer and Paul Sherman; fifth, Larry Fortier and Rosemarie Goodwin; second in B, Cynthia Bonsey and Ellie LaFerriere; first in C, Judy Abromson and Paul Beegel.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1421 for information about all bridge games.
