Henry Dacier of Rio Vista, Calif., asks what a resident of Chicago suburb Des Plaines, Ill., is called. We phoned Des Plaines City Hall to get the answer firsthand. A friendly civil servant told us “Chicagoan” – there’s no term based on “Des Plaines.”
