Between Monday, Oct. 15 and Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 a.m. this department responded to 201 calls for service. Of those calls, 40 of them were motor vehicle stops.

Criminal Mischief
The rear of Fish Bones at 70 Lincoln St. was tagged with graffiti overnight Oct. 14-15.
A mailbox at 160 Old Greene Road was smashed overnight Oct. 15-16.
Thefts
Several rims were stolen from a vehicle in the yard of Anytime Towing prior to 9:52 p.m. on Oct. 15.
An unlocked vehicle at 50 Webster St. was burglarized and rummaged through overnight Oct. 16-17.
A vehicle parked at 199 Pinewoods Road was burglarized overnight Oct. 16-17.
A vehicle parked at Dunkin’ Donuts was burglarized on Oct. 17 at 3:22 a.m. A backpack was stolen from inside. The suspect was described as 5’10” to 6′, wearing a blue hoody and sunglasses with a goatee.
Burglaries
An apartment at 153 Spring St. was burglarized prior to 3 p.m. on Oct. 15. Entry was most likely gained by carding the front door. Two pool cues, a Lisbon High School ring, and $100 worth of change were stolen.
An apartment at 76 Webster St. was burglarized overnight Oct. 16-17. The place was trashed and an X-Box was taken from inside.
Home Invasion
On Oct. 15 at 8:57 p.m. officers were called to 110 Sabattus St. for a report that the tenant had just been robbed at knife point by a male, about 20 years old, wearing a gray mask and blue/gray camo jacket. The suspect was armed with a 4-inch knife and escaped on foot after he was denied any property.
Counterfeit
The Burger King at 827 Lisbon St. received a counterfeit $100 American Express Traveler’s Check that they discovered on Oct. 15.
Frauds
A resident of 248 Central Ave. received a fraudulent check from “Treasures Parlvale Brownsville Office” which is located in Ottawa, Canada, in the amount of $4,400. The check indicated that it was a payoff from the “Maple Diamond Jackpot” and the request that he deposit $2,800 into his account and send the remainder back to a Canadian address in order to cover fees. The check was determined to be counterfeit.
Boston Private Bank & Trust Co. has been inundated with both requests for check verification and actual check presentations for final payment, from both financial institutions and consumers who are victims or recipients of this “Pan-American Trust Inc.” fraudulent scam where recipients are informed that they have are a winner in the SUPER SEVEN CONTEST. They are entitled to a lump sum winning of $250,000 and all they need to do is pay the taxes. There is a check drawn on Boston Private Bank & Trust Co. as well as a notice of unclaimed winnings. This check is a fraudulent check drawn on a non-existent account at BPB&TC. These checks are always in the amount of $3,985 and notices are being mailed all over the country and mostly to senior citizens.
In many cases, the seniors and others are being harassed with follow-up telephone calls to send the tax money in even before depositing the fraudulent check. In every case the check and notice is received in the U.S. mail and the origination stamp is from Canada.
Bomb Threat
Shaw’s on East Avenue was evacuated on Oct. 17 at 6:51 a.m. after a note was found by an employee in the produce storage room that indicated a bomb would go off in the building at 8 a.m.
Operating Under the Influence Arrests
Bryant Lessard, 54, was charged with operating under the influence and operating without a license on Oct. 15 at 4:35 a.m. at 4 Bates St. following a routine traffic stop.
Operating After Suspension Arrests
Derek Wright, 21, was charged with operating after suspension on Oct. 16 at 4:46 p.m. at 287 Main St. following a routine traffic stop.
Christina Ann Marie Destefano-Warner, 23, was charged with operating without a license on Oct. 17 at 2:56 a.m. at Birch and Bartlett streets following a routine traffic stop.
Marco Talarico, 20, was charged with operating after suspension and driving to endanger on Oct. 16 at 9:19 p.m. after he chased his ex-girlfriend around the downtown area until she pulled over in front of the police station.
