AUBURN – The Fall Family Festival, featuring the Trick or Treat Trail Run/Walk and Kid’s Fun Run, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28, at Lost Valley.

The event will open at 8 a.m. with race registration. The one-kilometer Kid’s Fun Run will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the five-kilometer trail race will commence at 9:15 a.m. Awards will be presented at 10:15.

The Kid’s Costume Contest Award will be presented at 11 a.m. All participants and spectators are invited to wear Halloween costumes.

Games for youngsters will be offered and refreshments will be provided. Free commemorative T-shirts will be provided to the first 150 race registrants.

The event will also feature a Family Cancer Prevention and Health Awareness Fair. Hosting displays and providing information will be Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center; Wellness For Life; Central Maine Bariatric Surgery; Advocates for Children; L/A Trails; Auburn-Lewiston YMCA; Tri-County Mental Health Services; Healthy Androscoggin; American Cancer Society; Maine Skin Cancer Screening Workgroup; CMMC Trauma Program-Central Maine Institute for Injury Prevention; and Youth-to-Youth teams from area schools.

A fee will be charged for participation in the race events. Adults wishing to register to compete in the race at a reduced cost or to get more information, should call Kerry Irish at 795-7118.

Registration for both the adult race and the kid’s race can also be completed on the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit cancer prevention and outreach activities at Central Maine Medical Center.
