LIVERMORE – Selectpeople voted Monday to give a contract to haul sand and build a pile of it mixed with salt at the transfer station to Soper Logging & Trucking of Livermore.
The town received three estimates for the project with Soper’s quote of $5,000 the lowest price, select board Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub said Tuesday. That price includes the $3 per yard that Walton’s Mountain Crushing in Livermore is providing the sand for, he said.
Soper is charging $2 per yard to haul it and pile it to the town’s specifications, he added.
Others submitting estimates were Lovewell Logging & Excavating of Livermore at a price of $9,240 and R.S. Pidacks Inc. of Livermore, whose estimate was for $4.25 per yard to haul it without piling it, Schaub said.
The board also approved an employee’s request to extend an unpaid leave of absence until Nov. 26 after a brief executive session, Schaub said.
