BATH (AP) – A 20-year-old Bath man faces a misdemeanor charge in connection with the accidental death of a 20-year-old whose body was found floating last month in the Kennebec River.
Police said Joel Rubenstein has been ordered to appear in court Dec. 18 to answer a charge of furnishing a place for minors to possess or consume liquor.
Police theorized that Stephen Kinney of Bath had been drinking alcohol at Rubenstein’s home on the night he disappeared. An autopsy found a high level of alcohol in Kinney’s body at the time of his death.
If convicted, Rubenstein could face up to a year in jail.
