AUGUSTA – The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine will honor Maine veterans and their families at a special screening of the newly installed multi-media production, “Were the House Still Standing: Maine Survivors and Liberators Remember the Holocaust,” at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Michael Klahr Center, University of Maine at Augusta.

The 80-minute production weaves together a modern soundscape with archival images and testimonies from Holocaust survivors who settled in Maine and Maine veterans who were involved in the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps. The testimonies offer glimpses into the stories of survival.

Bob Katz, professor of Art at the University of Maine at Augusta, who created the piece, will be on hand to answer questions, and speak about the film-making process. The content is not for young audiences.
