PORTLAND – The wedding of Jennifer Leigh Black and Joshua Stuart Rogers was held Oct. 21, 2006, at the Black Tie Old Port Cafe in Portland. The Rev. Lisa Marie Lindenschmidt officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of James I. and Vikki Black of Scarsdale, N.Y. The bridegroom is the son of Douglas S. and Nancy A. Rogers of Auburn.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a Victorian style gown of ivory satin with inlays of lace and a custom made hat.
Attendants for the bride were Katharine and Stephanie Black, sisters of the bride, and Kimberly Rogers, sister of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen were Ian Lindley, Ben Macri and Heath Nadeau, friends.
A reception followed at Camp Hammond in Yarmouth, after which the couple traveled to Bermuda. They are residing in New York City, Astoria.
The bride is a graduate of Scarsdale High School and a 1999 graduate of Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in theater. She received her master’s degree in film and television production from the University of Bristol in Bristol, England, in 2003. She is self-employed as a freelance documentary producer.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Edward Little High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in English. He is associate editor at Zegat Survey of New York City, and is also a freelance magazine article writer.
