DIXFIELD – A deer was killed and another one injured in two truck/deer collisions about 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25.

Police officer Eric Bernier said a 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer truck driven by Christopher Roast, 34, of West Paris, was traveling west on Route 2 near the so-called bluffs when a deer jumped in front of the truck. It was hit, but ran into the woods.

There was no damage to the truck.

A few minutes later, a pickup truck traveling east hit another deer and killed it, leaving it on the side of the road.

The identification of that driver is not known.
