Tables for rent
INDUSTRY – There will be a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Town Hall. Proceeds will benefit the United in Christ Presbyterian Church, Starks and West Mills. There are still two tables available for rent at $20 each. If interested, call 696-1064 or 778-6722.
School fair

Breakfast talk
WILTON – The Wilton “Early Bird” Community Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 7, will have as speaker Alison Hagerstrom, executive director of the Greater Franklin Development Corp. She will talk on “Economic Development Prospects for Wilton.” Doors of the Wilton Congregational Church, 386 Main St., will open at 6:30 a.m. for coffee and tea, and a buffet breakfast will be provided at 6:45 a.m. Speaker and discussion period will be from 7 to 7:30 a.m.
Monday Club
FARMINGTON – The Monday Club will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, for the annual Membership Tea.
The meeting will be at the home of University of Maine at Farmington President Theo Kalikow, 104 Lake Ave. She will provide refreshments and will be the speaker.

‘Spruce’ up the peak
JAY – A work day is scheduled for Spruce Mountain from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. Those attending will trim and cut brush and give the area a general cleanup. Season’s passes are available at the Ski Depot. For more information, call 897-2880.
Arts, crafts show
FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington has announced its annual arts and crafts show, sponsored by the Conference Office, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Olsen Student Center.
All items are handmade/homemade by the artists. Items will include quilted clothing and handbags, jewelry, hand-painted wood and jars, baskets, wooden boxes, fabric landscapes, handknit items, porcelain dolls, ornamental iron works, greeting cards, hand-sewn crafts, country crafts and wind chimes.

Church fair
RANGELEY – The holiday fair hosted by Good Shepherd’s Episcopal Church Women will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the church undercroft, Main Street.
The luncheon, served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature butternut squash soup, biscuits, corn chowder, grilled hot dogs and sauerkraut, chicken pie and ham salad rolls. Desserts will be lemon meringue pie, pumpkin pie and apple crisp.
Holiday items on sale will include homemade crafts, decorative baskets, Christmas accessories, a cookie walk, bake table and the Etcetera Shop.
The winning ticket for the raffle on Joan Dunlap’s homemade gnome will be drawn at noon.
Anointing held
JAY – Anointing of the sick took place at St. Rose of Lima Church on Oct. 21. The Rev. Roger Chabot anointed parishioners of St. Rose and parishioners of St. Joseph’s in Farmington. There were 52 anointed. After the anointing ceremony there was a dinner put on by the Daughters of Isabella at the parish hall.
The meal was chicken a la king served over homemade biscuits, squash and coleslaw, homemade pies and coffee. Twelve Daughters served the meal, and six youths from St. Rose helped set the hall up and clean up after.
D of I social
JAY – The Daughters of Isabella held a social on Oct. 24 at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall. The theme was “Halloween.”
There were 12 members on the committee, and Mary Castonguay and Kim Couture were co-chairwomen for the supper. The others were Yvonne Demillo, Anita Hill, Dorine Ouellette, Anna Lake, Janice St. Pierre, Shirley Couture and Roberta Simoneau. Everyone on the committee had to bring in a casserole, and a dessert made with pumpkin or a gelatin mold.
Forty-seven attended. A door prize was donated by Mary Castonguay and was won by Pauline Breton. Sue Mancine, Anita Marchetti and Noreen Nemi were on the committee but were unable to attend.
School lunches
FARMINGTON – The SAD 9 lunch menus are announced for Nov. 1 and 2.
Thursday: Tacos, whole kernel corn, potato smiles, apple crisp, milk.
Friday: Hamburger patty on a schoolmade bun, buttered macaroni, strawberry juice pop, milk.
