TURNER – District 3 American Legion Public Relations Historian Paul R. Bernard is requesting help from Maine residents.

Since the visit of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Lewiston, Bernard has created a special memorial Web page for those 343 Maine veterans who lost their lives in Vietnam. Bernard said he would like to post the pictures with information on rank, dates, branch of service and other information.

Bernard said that from Jan. 1 to Aug. 30, the Legion Web site has received 110,899 hits. From Sept. 1 to Oct. 14, it received 140,510 hits. The page visited the most was the memorial page to those men of honor who came from Maine, said Bernard.

Anyone who can help by sending additional information, such as boot camp photos or graduation photos, can e-mail them to [email protected]. People are invited to visit the Web at www.maineamericanlegion.com and e-mail corrections, additions, Bernard said.
