BANGOR (AP) – A man who was arrested at a Fort Fairfield golf course after making a drug deal in a Canadian section of the course has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import Oxycodone.

Federal prosecutors say 23-year-old Andrew Adams of Caribou entered his plea in District Court in Bangor. He faces a possible sentence of 20 years in prison and up to 1 million dollars in fines.

Officials say Adams and a Canadian man exchanged money for pills in a Canadian section of the golf course last July. Adams hid the drugs with a box of golf balls walked back to the United States, where 145 pills were seized and he was questioned by a Border Patrol agent.
