I am writing this letter in support of re-electing Lewiston’s Ward 1 City Councilor Stavros Mendros Tuesday.

Mendros is responsive to the needs of his constituents. I told him someone had dumped four used tires near the entrance of Sunnyside Park and that a swing was missing from the swing set. The tires disappeared the next day and the swing was replaced a week later. These prudent actions indicate Mendros is dedicated and cares about the small things that affect us.

Mendros also listens and considers the opinions of his constituents when casting votes. During the debate on the waste management deal with Casella, Mendros was leaning toward voting for the deal. After speaking to me and several of my neighbors, he was convinced that Casella was a bad deal for the city and consequently voted against it.

It is for those reasons that I support Stavros Mendros.
