MONMOUTH – Monmouth American Legion Post 204 has announced a memorial service to honor World War I veterans at the monument at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.
Post Commander Richard Burnham will open the ceremony. Rep. Nancy Smith, District 80, will read the names of World War I veterans from Monmouth. Students from Monmouth Academy will sing under the direction of Judy Mink and the Monmouth Academy band will play.
A salute will be fired to honor those who served by Legion member John Clark. “Taps” will be played at the conclusion of the service and Purple Heart Legion member Richard Chick will lay a wreath in honor of those who served in the war.
The public is invited.
