Literary Union plans ‘Winterberry’
AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union Winterberry Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St.
The Doll Boutique will feature sleigh and canopy dollbeds for 18-inch dolls. The beds are outfitted with mattresses, pillows and bedding. Also available will be doll clothing for 16-inch and 18-inch dolls, doll quilts and accessories, including winter coats with matching hats.
The bake, jewelry, boutique and craft tables will be located in the main meeting room. Some of the gift-giving items for sale will be teapots with cozies, table runners, knitted items, coasters, kitchen towels and aprons.
The Potting Shed will be housed in the library with partridge berry bowls, handpainted switch plates, canvass garden totes, pine cone wreaths and ornaments and handpainted plant pots.
Back for a second year will be the haddock chowder luncheon. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. until sold out, the $7 chowder will be served with homemade rolls and pies. Janet Eustis is the coordinator of the luncheon with assistance from members of the After Dark Club.
Church fair
BOWDOIN – A holiday craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church, West Road.
It will feature hand-crafted holiday decorations and ornaments, country kitchen favorites, including jams, Jellies, pickles and relishes, handmade jewelry, autumn and Christmas centerpieces and decorative wreaths. Luncheonette to serve fish chowder, corn chowder, hot dogs, homemade pies and free coffee.
Children’s activities will include face painting, make-a-craft, cookie decorating and child’s gift table with items priced to fit a child-size budget.
Holiday festival
LEWISTON – Trinity Catholic School will hold its second annual holiday festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Trinity Junior High School campus, 393 Main St.
There will be crafts/holiday gifts, adult/child raffle tables, child games/activities, food and refreshments, a cake walk and other baked goods for sale. Santa will visit all day.

Guild fair
MECHANIC FALLS – The Ladies’ Guild will host its annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Our Lady of Ransom Parish Hall. There will be crafts, ornaments, raffle items, a bake sale and a food booth for luncheon.
Candy cane fair
POWNAL – A “Candy Cane Christmas Fair,” featuring crafts, homebaked goods, ornaments, jewelry, mittens, jams and relishes and a silent auction will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10, at the North Pownal United Methodist Church, 871 Lawrence Road.
It will also offer “A Greater Gift Sale” to benefit SERRV, a nonprofit organization to aid economic progress in poor countries.
Friday hours will be 3 to 7 p.m., serving fish chowder and hot dogs, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., serving beef stew and sandwiches. For more information, call 688-4481 or 688-4101.
School fair
TURNER – Turner Elementary School will hold its fourth annual craft fair from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. For more information, call Lori Marschall at 224-8264. A donation of $1 at the door will benefit the Turner Community Playground.
