LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is planning its second Home for the Holidays Celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Poland Spring Preservation Park. Proceeds from the event will support home health and hospice care.

“We are building upon our success from last year’s event that attracted more than 200 people,” said Laurie Winsor, director of marketing and development.

“Because nearly everyone buys a holiday centerpiece, we felt holding a silent auction of holiday centerpieces would be a great addition to the event. Participating groups and businesses will have the option to promote their organization by including information next to their centerpiece.”

Groups or businesses interested in participating in Home for the Holidays should contact the AHCH Development Department at 795-9428 or visit the agency’s Web site at ahch.org under community events.

“In addition to the centerpiece auction, AHCH has planned more activities for children, including crafts and games,” Winsor said. “Santa will hold story time throughout the day, as well as, being available for photos. For those wishing to do a little holiday shopping, we are holding a book fair and will have a dessert and beverage bar when they need to take a break.”

Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice provides skilled home care, supportive care and hospice care for 8,200 residents in central and western Maine.
