LEWISTON – Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St., will host a community-wide Ecumenical Veterans Day Prayer Service for the fourth year at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. “We Remember and Give Thanks” will be an evening of reflection honoring those who have served and who are currently serving the Armed Forces.

The service will be held in conjunction with other weekend parish acts of remembrances.

The Rev. Daniel Greenleaf, administrator of Holy Family Church, will offer reflections. The Rev. John P. Ellis will do the readings. Sharon Bouchard, grandmother of the late Sgt. Corey Dan, killed in Iraq, will offer the Prayers of the Faithful. Area clergy have been invited to participate.

Music will be a combined effort of members from area Lewiston/Auburn churches. Henry St. Pierre will direct the choir. Paul G. Caron will accompany the combined group and will perform his own arrangement of military songs that honor the branches of the military as the flags for each are presented at the beginning of the service.

The Worship and Spirituality Commission is offering elderly neighbors transportation to the special event. All active and inactive members of the military are invited. Those living in the area or are home on leave are asked to attend in uniform.
