AUBURN – American Legion Public Relations Historian Paul Bernard has announced that American Legion National Commander Martin “Marty” Conatser of Illinois will visit Maine on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17.
His visits while in Maine will be as follows: Friday at 3:45 p.m., Westbrook Post 197, brief address to Legion family members and friends; Saturday at 8 a.m., Gardiner Post 4, breakfast and brief program.
Also, Saturday at 10 a.m., Palermo Post 163, coffee and social time with Legion family members and area residents; noon, Winthrop Post 40, lunch and a brief program.; 1:45 p.m., Auburn Post 153, meet with Legion family members and local dignitaries.
Also, Saturday at 6 p.m., Rumford Post 24, dinner and program to follow. Dinner will include ham or turkey and all the fixings for $15. The American Legion District 3 meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Harry J. Conway Post 135, Island Road, Sabattus.
The 89th anniversary of the end of World War II on Nov. 11, 1918, will be remembered with a Musical Tribute to Veterans at the Lewiston Armory at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.
