Army Sgt. 1st Class Earl C. Couture has arrived for duty in Bay City, Mich. Couture, a recruiter, is assigned to the Bay City Recruiting Station. He has 16 years of military service.

Couture is the son of Nancy M. Couture of Jay. His wife, Julie, is the daughter of Roland and Nancy Skidgell of Carthage.

The sergeant graduated in 1989 from Jay High School and received an associate degree in 2001 from Jefferson Community College, Watertown, N.Y.
