NORWAY – Dr. Maurice J. Convey, owner of Oxford Hills Dental Associates, 232 Main St., was inducted as a fellow of the International College of Dentists at its 78th annual convocation in San Francisco on Sept. 28. The International College of Dentists is an honorary organization for the recognition of outstanding and meritorious service to the profession and the community. Dr. Convey was presented with a membership plaque, a gold lapel pin and a gold key, symbolic of the fellowship for conspicuous service rendered to the art and science of dentristry.

Dr. Convey is a 1994 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and received his bachelor of science degree in biology from Adelphi University.

He has been president of the Androscoggin Valley Dental Society and the Maine Dental Association and is chairman of the MDA’s subcommittee on work force development, which is involved in recruiting dentists from dental school as well as encouraging middle and high school students in Maine to consider dentristy.

For the past few years, he has organized Give Kids A Smile Day in the Oxford Hills area, where needy children with dental disease are treated free of charge by four or five area dentists in Norway and Paris.

Dr. Convey has been the owner of Oxford Hills Dental Associates since 1996.
