Kudos to the Maine Turnpike Authority, the American Legion and anybody else responsible for the placing of American flags along the Turnpike. They are placed approximately every mile on the right as one travels south.

I was touched and blessed by this expression of love and allegiance for our country. It stirred great feelings of patriotism in me as I watched the flags blowing in the wind.

Please, if you know a veteran or if you happen to meet one on this Veterans Day weekend, thank him or her for serving our country. This is not about being for or against the war; this is about appreciating our country and those men and women who have put their lives on the line for us.
