LEWISTON – Jan Barrett, owner of the Ware Street Inn Bed and Breakfast in Lewiston, has once again been invited by the Professional Association of Innkeepers International to present a workshop at its 2008 conference at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., in April.
“Navigating City Hall: Making Friends Not Enemies” walks aspiring and current innkeepers through the perceived maze of obstacles created by federal, state and local codes, and zoning affecting their plans for opening or growing their inns or B&Bs.
Barrett has been involved with PAII’s program planning committee as a marketing track committee member for the 2007, as well as the upcoming 2008 conference.
She has, as well, written an extensive article using association membership and networking to maximize marketing potential titled “Flamingo Marketing” for PAII’s monthly member e-newsletter.
Barrett has been designated a mentor by PAII, making herself available to less experienced and aspiring innkeepers as an innkeeping coach and/or simply a resource to respond to their questions and concerns.
