FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Concert Band, comprised of UMF students and community members, will be performing at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, in Nordica Auditorium in UMF Merrill Hall. Directed by Anita Jerosch, this program includes works by Hector Berlioz, Gustav Holst and Richard Strauss, along with a popular selection from “Fiddler on the Roof” and a classic Sousa march.

The University of Maine at Farmington Community Orchestra will present its fall concert at 3 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 18, at Nordica Auditorium in UMF Merrill Hall. The ensemble, directed by Trond Saeverud, is a full symphonic orchestra including UMF students, staff and community members. The fall program will feature four dramatic compositions that have connections to special occasions, Handel’s “Royal Fireworks,” Beethoven’s “Coriolanus Overture,” Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll” and “Finlandia” by Sibelius.

Both the Concert Band and Community Orchestra performances are open to the public and are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for UMF students with an ID. Tickets are available at Mickey’s Hallmark in Farmington and at the door the night of the performance.
