Pie auction

DIXFIELD – A pie auction will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Dirigo High School. Admissions will be $1 a person. All profits will benefit the Dirigo prom 2008 and the graduation of the class of 2009.

Bake sale

RUMFORD – The River Valley Christian School Inc. will conduct a bake sale in front of Marden’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. Proceeds will go toward a French class trip. For more information, call Ginny Dow during school hours at 364-4404.

Legion visitor

RUMFORD – National Commander Marty Conatser of Illinois will visit Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion, on Saturday, Nov. 17. A banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. with a dance to follow at the post, 184 Congress St. For more information, call 369-9053.

Church fair

RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street, will hold its annual Christmas fair and luncheon from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the church fellowship hall. Many baskets have been put together to be used as hostess gifts, and there will be baked foods, knit items and crafts. A hospitality table will be available.

Class meeting

RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1950 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Sam’s. Call Margaret at 364-2098 or Frances at 364-4643, if planning to attend.

MEXICO – The Stephens High School Class of 1946 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Chicken Coop.

Work day

MEXICO – The Mexico Trail Blazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. On Sunday, Nov. 25, the Trail Blazers will work on the Wentzell bridge crossing between Mexico and Dixfield on ITS-82. Volunteers needed. For more information, call Nick at 364-8665 or 364-8110.

Eve service

RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church will hold a Thanksgiving Eve service of worship and song at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the sanctuary on Linnell Street. The service will include words of gratitude from Pastor Kelly Harvell, music from the choir and the congregation.

Telstar fair

BETHEL – The 21st annual Telstar Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Telstar Regional High School, Route 26.

The fair will feature quality products and returning will be a raffle table, lunch and a bake sale, along with face-painting and balloons for the kids.
