Helmets needed

JAY – The Jay Amvets Special Olympics Committee is looking for used or new snowmobile helmets for the annual snowmobile rides at the Maine Special Olympics winter games in February 2008.

The committee needs X-large and X-small helmets in good condition. They can be dropped off at Ted Berry Co., 521 Federal Road, Livermore, or Jay Amvets, Main Street, or call 897-3348 to arrange pickup.

St. Rose fair

JAY – St. Rose Church will hold a Christmas fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the parish hall. Events will include a raffle, homemade food table, white elephant items and cookie walk. Chicken pot pie and fish chowder will be served for lunch beginning at 11 a.m. For more information, call Laurianne Castonguay at 897-4818.

Sunday sermon

FARMINGTON – “Open to God’s Power” is the title of the Rev. Susan Crane’s sermon for Sunday, Nov. 18, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, corner of Main and Academy streets. All are welcome.

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and Christian education classes for all ages are held at 9 a.m.

Adult classes are on science and faith and on the prayers of Jesus.
