Maine (4-6) at New Hampshire (6-4)
Noon, Saturday, Alfond Stadium, Orono
Forget crystal vases and 24-karat trophies. Here’s the age-old battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket. Maine’s ammunition is a three-game winning streak. Maine hasn’t finished a season with four consecutive wins since 1955. With a win and a Hofstra loss to Massachusetts, the Black Bears would finish in a three-way tie for second in the Colonial North Division. Maine has contained opponents to an average of nine points per contest during this run. Jovan Belcher has registered at least two tackles for loss in each of those games. UNH was ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation after beating Division I-A Marshall in September, but losses to Richmond, James Madison, Northeastern and UMass intervened. QB Ricky Santos leads a still-potent offense. The Wildcats have won four straight games against Maine to take a 45-43-8 lead in the series. Prediction: New Hampshire, 24-23.
