WILTON – A stash of small electronic devices has been recovered after police searched a Weld Street home on Monday.
The items include palm pilots, CD players, car radios, phones and cameras and were found when officers obtained a search warrant to enter a juvenile’s home, police Chief Dennis Brown said Thursday. The search warrant was obtained based on information from an informant. No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation, he said.
The items are believed to have been taken from recent car burglaries including some in Jay, he said. Anyone who had items taken from their cars should contact Wilton police.
The items recovered Monday may be related to a recent case of four car break-ins that was resolved two weeks ago by Officer Josh King, he added.
Ron Adley, 18, of Wilton was arrested after King responded to a call of a suspicious person on Main Street. The caller said the young man was carrying a pillow case and going into cars. After attempting to elude the police officer, he was found to have $1,000 worth of items in his possession, believed to have been taken during the four car break-ins, Brown said.
Most of those items have been returned to their owners, Brown told selectmen last week when he acknowledged King’s work.
Officers Blaine Rackliff, Richard Caton and Don Geis are working on the investigation, Brown said.
