Potluck dinner
HARTFORD – A potluck vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Hartford town hall. Donations will be accepted for the local book bank. For more information, contact Arthur or Elizabeth at 388-2860.
Lyme support

Story time
WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will offer a Thanksgiving story program for young children at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23. The library is located on Routes 35/37 in Waterford Flat and may be reached at 583-2050.
Hours are Monday 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday 3 to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to noon and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Church event
NORWAY – The Stewardship Committee and deacons of the Second Congregational Church invite all to watch the Merchant’s Parade from their parking lot at the corner of Main and Paris streets at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.
They will sell coffee, cocoa and cookies. Christmas wreaths and kissing balls will also be for sale in the church parking lot from 9 a.m. until noon. All proceeds will benefit the missions of the church.
Worship and church school is held at 10 a.m. Sundays and all are invited. For more information, call the church office between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Thursday, 743-2290.
Benefit supper
NORTH WATERFORD – A benefit supper will be held at the North Waterford Congregational Church from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24. The proceeds will go toward travel expenses for Zackery Morin’s trip to China in July 2008 with the People to People Student Ambassador Program.
Morin is a student at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and a resident of North Waterford.
The church is located on the Five Kezars Road, off Routes 35 and 37, opposite Melby’s Market. The price for the buffet style all-you-can-eat supper is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. For more information or to volunteer, call Jennifer Morin at 583-4403.
