FARMINGTON – Simulated smoke used by fire departments to train will become the real thing today.
A controlled burn will take place in the vacant motel on the Twin Pond site. The Wilton Road property owned by Randy Cousineau has been used by several area fire departments since last spring for regular training.
Fire Chief Terry Bell said the department will do a little training from approximately 6 to 8 p.m. Monday before burning the motel. The burn will take place unless there are high winds.
The Foster technical school firefighter class will also be involved with the burn.
